John 3 Explained in Art

In the series of drawings and paintings below, you can come to understand what Jesus meant when he spoke of being “generated from above” in the third chapter of the Gospel of John in the Bible. (Other translations may say “born again” or “born anew.”)

The pictures are meant to help you understand the meaning of this chapter, verse by verse. You’ve probably heard the expression “a picture is worth a thousand words.” You’ll see that this is true, because the pictures tell the story of Nicodemus’ nighttime visit to Jesus, and will give you a deeper view of your own need for salvation and regeneration. To begin, click on each picture and examine it. Then read the verse and explanation underneath. Then go back and look at each picture again. The pictures will make a deeper impression on you than the words of the lesson! That is the way they were designed, so you’ll come to understand God’s message in John 3. If you have any questions, or would like to discuss any part of the lesson, contact us and we’ll help you!
