Other Things Feel More Important

Jesus is more into saving people than people are into it themselves. That is a big problem. They want other things instead of the big thing they really need, to be saved now and always. They get into other things and that’s the problem. Jesus is the answer, Himself. He’s more into you being saved than you are. It feels and seems like other things are more important. Are you discussing this?

Jesus invited everyone to a feast and they all made excuses. I’ve gotta this, I’ve gotta that… I’m not interested (Lk. 14:16-24). What is the problem with being saved? It feels like other things are more important. So, what do you go by? Reality? Or feelings? What’s more important to you? Your feelings or reality?

As long as your #1 want, or desire, is to be saved, you will be! God is jealous. He’s got to be #1 to you. It’s very important. How much do you hear that? What is wrong with me? How can it be that other things feel more important? To be saved from sin, and death, and judgment?!

What do you need to get into? What am I going to do about my problem? Make sure I’m acting according to the New Testament…where you learn about being saved. But other things feel more important – what am I going to do about it? What’s my real problem? Other things feel more important. And that’s a delusion. It’s fooling me. So, what am I going to do about it? I gotta make up my mind what’s most important and act accordingly! Or else, 1 second after I’m dead I’m going to wish I had! Then I find out He really IS Lord and He would have saved me, but other things felt more important and I went for them. And then 1 second after I’m dead…

What are you going to do about it? How about reading about the pearl of great price? It’s so special! I could be safe with Him, but something else felt more important. I’m going to make up my mind what’s most important, and then ACT ACCORDINGLY!

Otherwise, what are the weeds going to do to me? They’re going to choke me. That is the problem in the first place. Adam and Eve were put in the Garden and all they had to do was pull out weeds to take care of the Garden. They could have kept a beautiful Garden, all they had to do was take care of it by pulling out weeds. Pull out the weeds or let it get wrecked. All I have to do is pull out the weeds before they get too big. Catch us the little foxes before they spoil the vineyard! (Song of Solomon 2:15) Pull out the weeds before they grow too big, and catch the foxes before they spoil the Garden! They’re eating the vines! Pull them out fast! Or else, like Eve, you’re going to do the same thing…the Garden wasn’t good enough. Just take care of it! God put me back in another garden, even better, in the vine. Better than the Garden of Eden. All I have to do is pull out the weeds, and catch the foxes before they spoil the vineyard, and He ALREADY did the rest! “But other things are more important. Weeds are better than that.” That’s crazy talk! So pull out the weeds before they spoil the vineyard. And Jesus already did the rest! I can even get a job in His vineyard. Then I can help others. But, other things feel more important.

It’s all a matter of priorities with my head screwed on right. I must make up my mind about what’s most important. Most important is being saved, it’s the biggest thing. And all I have to do is pull out the weeds that choke the faith. As long as He says, “Well done, good and faithful servant!” (Mt 25:21,23 ) Then I can even get a job in His heavenly kingdom! There is nothing better than that. Even if something feels more important, I can’t even remember my all-important feelings from 11 days ago. I must keep #1 in front of me. Or I’ll be led astray from a sincere devotion to Christ. (2Cor 11:3) A sincere devotion to Christ is what’s most important to me, instead of letting my thoughts/feelings lead me astray. He did the rest, all I have to do is pull out the weeds. Then I can get a job in His heavenly kingdom – “I will set you over 10 cities.” (Lk 19:17).

If I scream this loud enough and live this way, maybe others will get benefit from it. Nothing is more important than being saved, especially my feelings which are going to change anyway. Instead of waiting until 1 second after I’m dead and wishing I had. I’ll say I could have just made up my mind and should have listened. So, while I have a chance, I’m going to sell everything else for this precious pearl of great price! Are you ready to die? What’s really important to you? Get rid of anything getting in the way of your being saved. Practice living as though you’re going to die in 5 minutes. Would you be thinking about where am I going to go when I die? Get used to it – it’s going to happen… you’re going to die. What’s most important, and live accordingly… mean it! The devil is going to try to get other things to feel more important. Whatever gets in the way of your salvation feeling most important, lose it! It’s not worth losing salvation over. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul? (Mt. 16:26)  You’re going to lose it all anyway when you die…which reality says could be in 5 minutes. Don’t let other things (weeds) grow up and choke the word (Mk 4:19).
